Dakini Sky Dancer

The dakini is a messenger of spaciousness and a force of truth, presiding over the funeral of self-deception. Wherever we cling, she cuts; whatever we think we can hide, even from ourselves, she reveals. The dakini traditionally appears during transitions: moments between worlds, between life and death, in visions between sleep and waking, in cemeteries and charnel grounds.

Dakini in Sanskrit, Khandro in Tibetan, literally means “sky dweller” or “sky dancer,” and is the most sacred aspect of the feminine principle in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying both humanity and divinity in feminine form.

Dakinis may appear differently in various contexts; when needed, she may appear as fierce and intense or playful and nurturing. At other times she may appear outrageous or repulsive in order to cut through conceptual thinking and mistaken perception. She may appear as a human being, as a goddess, either peaceful or wrathful, or she may be perceived as the general play of energy in the phenomenal world.

In general, the dakini represents the ever-changing flow of energy with which the yogic practitioner must work in order to become realized. Ultimately, all women are seen as some kind of dakini manifestation.

Meditation: Care for your Brain…

What Are Brainwaves?

Brainwaves, or neural oscillations, are rhythmic patterns of activity in our central nervous systems.

At different phases of your day, the interaction between your neurons changes, and brainwaves are a measurement of the wavelike patterns of activity in your mind.

There are five distinct kinds of brainwaves: Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta. The types range from a very fast bumpy pattern to a slow rolling wave—and each type is associated with different states of consciousness and cognitive functioning.

The Five Types of Brainwaves

The highest frequency brainwaves—measuring 31 to 100 hertz, or cycles per second—are gamma waves, which are typically associated with insight, expanded consciousness, and peak performance.

When you feel like you’re a state of hyperfocus, you’re likely producing gamma waves.

When you’re alert and focused on something like reading, writing, or speaking, you’re probably producing beta waves, which measure 16 to 30 cycles per second. Executive functioning and focused learning happen in this state, so in our hectic lives, we probably spend a lot of time producing beta waves.

When you’re in a state of rest, relaxation, and reflection your brain produces alpha waves, which measure between 8 and 12 hertz.

In this state, you’re still awake, but you feel calm. You’re not asking your brain to process a ton of information, solve a problem, or focus on work. Some experts call this a “wakeful rest” state.

During a yoga class, you typically move from a beta brainwave state into an alpha one. You might feel like you’ve just had a burst of dopamine and serotonin to your brain. In a gently relaxed alpha state, you have more access to visualization, imagination, and creativity.

On the flip side, that “yoga high” from alpha brainwaves might make you feel a little forgetful or spacey – which is why you’re more likely to forget your keys, water bottle, or jacket when you pack up to leave your studio.

In deep meditation or relaxation, your brain produces theta waves, measuring between 4 and 7 hz. This is where we hold our memory and intuition. If you read a book before going to bed, you might be in this state just before you flip off the light and go to sleep.

The slowest brainwaves are Delta waves, measuring only .1 to 3 hertz. This is a state of detached awareness or deep, dreamless sleep where a lot of healing occurs.

Studies have shown that some Buddhist and Tibetan meditators, many of whom have meditated for decades, can stay in a living awareness in the Delta state. But most of us tap into Delta brainwaves when we are sleeping.

Meditation and Your Brain

So what do these different brainwave types mean for you?

In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an instructional yoga text that dates back to at least 300 A.D., the author says, “Yoga is the cessation of fluctuations of the mind.”

Picture brainwaves like these fluctuations of the mind. Meditation actually enables us to move from high frequency brainwaves to lower frequency ones, helping us calm our minds and giving us more space between our thoughts.

By slowing down our brainwaves and accessing deeper states of rest, healing, and intuition, we can make room for true consciousness to bubble up to the surface, so we’re less driven by the addictive negative biases in our mind.

You already know that the quality of our minds depends on the quality of our thoughts, and our happiness depends on how masterfully and skillfully we can master our own minds.

Moving from high frequency to lower frequency brainwaves gives us opportunities to carefully choose the thoughts we invest in, rather than being at the mercy of old, ingrained habits and thought patterns.

Managing your own mind with your meditation practice gives you tools to avoid mind traps like:

  • Getting caught in the “should”s (I should do this, I should do that)
  • Emphasizing the negative
  • Discounting the positive
  • Negative self-talk
  • Catastrophizing (assuming the worst is going to happen)

Understanding brainwaves can not only deepen your practice, but it can also help you be a better yoga teacher or wellness practitioner by teaching your students or clients how to optimize their brainwaves for greater peace and wellbeing.

Killing Moon

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you’ll take me
Up in your arms, too late to beg you
Or cancel it, though I know it must be
The killing time, unwillingly mine

Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon will come too soon

Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you’ll take me
Up in your arms, too late to beg you
Or cancel it, though I know it must be
The killing time, unwillingly mine

Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear,
I will allow it to pass over me and through me.
When it is gone,
I will turn the inner-eye to see its path.
Where the fear once was,
There will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Sacred Garden

I see a garden beyond the flames

To enter must burn away

Everything I have ever identified with

All the stories I have ever told

Everyone I have ever known or loved

All ideas of separation and loss

Even my yearnings for union

I must enter empty handed

Expecting nothing

Offering everything I am in return

Such a small price to pay

For the garden of my soul!

Age of Light…2021

Welcome To 2021! How Light Enters Form. Written By Dr. Schavi M. Ali

In the new year of 2021 A.C.E. (“After the Common Era”), LIGHT will increase as Earth/Gaia continues to travel higher in the cosmic realms to receive sacred energy (“life force”) which will then be transmitted to all of creation upon the planet.

We are still in an amazing re-birthing process. LIGHT has been coming into the inner and outer fields of Earth/Gaia for many eons of time; however, it has steadily increased as human collective consciousness has demonstrated a need for SOURCE to give further instructions regarding the Divine principles which govern the physical realms—both within this galaxy and other galaxies as well as within all universes which comprise the cosmos or the multiverse.

As residents of Earth/Gaia, our nerves (known as “nadis” in Sanskrit) are transmitters and receivers of knowledge, and this knowledge is transported to us via our nerve endings which are the openings to our grid system of all of our nerves combined.

Nerves are like pathways or highways which travel throughout the physical vessel and which also act upon our electrical frequencies of thought and our magnetic frequencies of emotion.

As this process unfolds, our cells are filled with information because they are records, and our DNA is re-framed.

The more knowledge that we acquire, the more that our cellular records are cleared of old programming and the more that our DNA is continually given more strands, thus eventually becoming a multi-stranded formation as opposed to remaining only of a double-helix structure.

This is why there have been times when intense aches or pains have occurred in the muscles and joints (when no other reason for them is evident such as having sustained an injury due to an accident or sports activity).

Welcome To 2021 - Nadis Map

Our nerves known as “Nadis” in Sanskrit

When LIGHT comes into the physical vessel to cleanse and to illuminate it, its power is potent! It has been increasingly potent as ages of history have elapsed. Now, as humanity is leveling-up in greater numbers, the LIGHT is stronger because many are now ready to process knowledge that in the past they either refuted or could not understand.

In other words, the intellectual and spiritual capabilities of many humans has developed in such enormous percentages that more LIGHT can now be received and acclimated to as the final phase of the “Kali Yuga” (“Age of Chaos”) has arrived and as the next age ensues.

From the “Kali Yuga” era (where only 1/4 of humanity is of a truly higher vibrating consciousness), there is a spiraling upwards through the conditions of the previous ages, and therefore, a gradual betterment of world civilization occurs.

Welcome To 2021 - How Light Enters Form - Physical Vessel

Light Comes Into the Physical Vessel

Each age (except for the “Golden Age” of “Sattva Yuga”—the “Age of Peace”)—is filled with a cosmic clearing and cleansing process whose purpose is the re-calibration, re-alignment, and tuning-up of all creation.

This process for Earth/Gaia has been very extensive.

The next age will be “Dwarpa Yuga”—“The Age of Doubt”.

Many people will still question the existence of a “Higher Power”. Many will still be merely logic-oriented and rely upon traditional scientific information.

The planetary blueprints of the cosmos will still be in question, particularly by those persons who have been instilled with religious indoctrination. Governments will continue to be in turmoil.

Warfare will still happen. Nature will still be tampered with in numerous ways.

Yet, all the while, LIGHT will keep arriving, and approximately 1/2 of humanity will be prepared to be open-minded about metaphysical phenomena.

The next age is “Treta Yuga”–the “Age of Ritual”.

At this era, humanity will have leveled-up at approximately a 3/4 fraction.

The darkness of “Kali Yuga” and the dimness of “Dwarpa Yuga” will have considerably lessened. Humanity will profoundly increase in its belief in and honoring of sacred principles and realizeshow they work in the world.

There will be more love, more peace, more joy, better health, and greater abundance. Finally the “New Golden Age” of “Sattva Yuga”will be birthed, and there will literally be “Heaven on Earth”.

There will be no more illness, no demise of the physical body, there will be no religious rivalry, there will be no hatred, there will be no warfare, there will be no subjugation of anyone.

Vital Life Force (Spirit) and Higher Consciousness (Soul) will show itself as pure LIGHT. Thus, a truly Divine type of human being will exist. The greatest holy book will be realized to be Nature itself.

All of humanity will live in righteousness.

Meek Shall Inherit the Earth….

‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

What does this mean?

The opposite of meekness is defined by Merriam-Webster as egotistic, pompous, haughty, and aggressive.

Through this, we see a different picture of meekness. It isn’t a doormat mentality or silence in the face of injustice. Instead, it doesn’t retaliate when wronged and doesn’t exude pride and narcissism.

The type of person most people would think would rule the earth likely exhibits some of the traits listed above.

– meek people don’t envy, don’t retaliate, and exercise patience in the face of adversity.

– the meek show joy and happiness under dire circumstances. No matter what happens in the world around them, they latch on to God’s provision and plan for their lives.

The Message: You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

Ode To Lunar Eclipse

You, darkness, of whom I am born

I love you more than the flame that limits the world

To the circle it illumines and excludes all the rest

But the dark embraces everything:

Shapes and shadows, creatures, me, people, nations..

Just as they are

It lets me imagine a great presence stirring beside me.

I believe in the night
